Studies about the sociology of Erving Goffman

As an American Studies Fellow of the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS, New York) Jef C. Verhoeven got the opportunity in 1980 to conduct research at the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) (USA) in collaboration with Professor T. Shibutani. During this period he visited a large number of former students of H. Blumer and interviewed them. Although Goffman did not consider himself to be labeled as a symbolic interactionist, he was part of this study.
